Medical review status
We want to be clear about how our health content is checked today.
How our articles are checked now
Our articles are researched and written from government and peer-reviewed sources, such as the NIH, MedlinePlus, the Office of Dietary Supplements, the CDC and the FDA. Each article is checked against those sources before it's published: we confirm every link works and every number we state appears in the cited source. You'll find the full source list at the end of every article.
Our articles have not yet been reviewed by a licensed clinician. We plan to add a credentialed medical reviewer. When we do, we'll name them on this page and on each article they review.
What this means for you
Use our articles to understand your results and prepare questions, not to make medical decisions. Always talk with your doctor about your lab results, and talk with your prescriber before starting, stopping or changing any medicine or supplement. If you think you have a medical emergency, call 911.
